stock rear ratio
I'm just curious about the rear end in my trucks.. I have two '70 half tons.. One is a longbed that came with a 350/t350, and the other was a 307/3spd manual. Neither have a ratio on the option sheet. Would it be safe to assume they are both peg-legged 3.73s? I also have a 68 with a 250/3spd that I know for a fact has a 3.73. I know the best way to check is to pop the rear end cover and count the teeth, but I would like to know what to expect. Thanks.

Look on top the passenger side axle tube for a 3 letter code stamped into the tube. Then post the codes.

I'll say the 350/350 is a 3.07...not sure about teh stick truck.
The oil needs chainged in there anyways. |

what about
a 72 1/2 ton 2wheel drive lngbed wth a 307/350 turbo (auto) with the stok rearend???

If not mistaken,(And someone please correct me if I am mistaken) all small block automatic 1/2 ton trucks came with 3.07's as base equipment.

I believe if you raise one wheel and mark the yoke, then turn the wheel (tire) two full turns while your counting the revolutions on the yoke that'll give you ratio. If the yoke turns just over 3 times it's a 3.07, if 3 3/4 it's a 3.73 and so on.

longhornmail is right. The factory spec the 350/350 with a 3.07 as standard
