bolt size/grade required to install auto crossmember?
anyone know what bolts to use to install my new auto crossmember? Also, what bolts to connect the tranny mount to the xmember? I think I read that I can use the same bolts from my 3spd to connect the transmission to the mount.
Thanks!, Ryan |

I used 3/8" bolts about 1 1/4 inch long grade 8, but grade 5 would prob work also. Brian

I'd stay with the grade 8 since it's better to have too much strength than not enough.

I used a cutting torch to remove the rivets from the 4x4 crossmember center section on my truck to swap my manual transmission/transfer case to an auto. I replaced them with 3/8" grade 5 bolts. They have been there for over two years.

I like to use grade 8 bolts on chassis stuff, but on the trans crossmember, grade 5 should do just fine crazyL
