Interior roof material

I just posted this in my thread, but hoping somebody can point me in the right direction.

I am working on the interior of my 60 GMC Burb. Trying to keep it as close to original as possible without breaking the bank.

Going to order the new firewall insulation pad, looking at what is available for the original style rubber front floor padding and now the ceiling.

I am trying to keep this as close to original as possible. I have not seen or heard of anybody being successful on finding the similar silverish roofing that came with it.

With trying to stay somewhat original looking, what has anybody come up with to install between the ribs ?

Any pictures, leads on material will be appreciated.

Re: Interior roof material

I have not found a source but I know what to look for. The fabric seems to be matted wool with vinyl molded to the face. It's 1/8" thick. The surface texture is called "hair cell" & is perforated on a 2" grid.

I also know that the headliner was sprayed "silver" after it was installed, because there was a pattern of silver dots all over the steel roof when the headliner was removed. That was left because of the perforated holes.

Originally it was adhered to the steel with a black asphalt substance.

Re: Interior roof material

Another poster here got me to looking at a new seat fabric site- https://www.etsy.com/shop/TheEstateStash

and they also have vinyl and headliner material - https://www.etsy.com/shop/DeadstockAutoVinyl

I don't see the exact Suburban material but there is lots of similar period correct stuff. Some are close on the color, texture, perforated, and wide enough (~60"). This could be an excellent 2nd choice until someone finds the 100% correct stuff.
