Hey now, let's not turn this into a border dispute
Morgsie, I was under the impression that there are no "dumb questions" here. Pete Last edited by Shock_Me; 11-23-2007 at 08:23 AM. |

Re: Factory tilt columns
Two weeks & 465 views later and still no pics or proof of comfortilt being offered in 1970 ? I have seen plenty of loaded 70 CST trucks and blazers, along with some nicely optioned 70 suburbans, both chevy & gmc and none as of yet have *ORIGINALLY* had the N33 option listed on the spid. I have sorted thru all of my 1970 factory literature and brochures, here is that list:
1970 Chevrolet Movers / Pickups, Chassis Cabs & 4-Wheel Drives-#D-78782 printed 8/69 1970 Chevrolet Movers / Recreational Vehicles-#D-78784 printed 8/69 1970 Chevrolet Movers / Suburbans & Panels -#D-78783 printed 8/69 1970 Chevrolet Movers / Blazers-#D-78785 printed 8/69 1970 GMC Pickup, Suburban, Stake Cab and Chassis 1500-3500 Series-Adv.70-2 printed 8/69 1970 GMC Campers and Recreational Models-Adv.70-3 printed 8/69 none of the above mention the option of comfortilt steering column being offered, the only similarly thing found listed in the above lit. was more of a standard feature that was listed & pictured as "low profile steering wheel", pictured in the photos was just a normal 69-72 type steering wheel without a tilt column present. Come on guys, lets not sweep this thread under the rug yet... lets get this one figured out & then put it to bed. Now lets see some pics of ORIGINAL (none of those beautiful chipflyer customs) 1970 spids or build/forcast sheets listing N33 or 1N3310 as a factory option. Cb |

Re: Factory tilt columns
Would you like pics of my brochure from 12/69? It is listed in the campers brochure.

Re: Factory tilt columns
Old thread I know...but to close the loop and for posterity's sake. See the SPID pics below of Mark's (Downtown) 1970 Flint built Longhorn with N33 tilt listed. Wanted to know for myself, posting with permission. Only other pic of a 1970 SPID on the board with an N33 (that I've found) was blank in the description line.
Thanks for sharing Mark.

Re: Factory tilt columns
From what I’ve learned, it was “Available” in 69-70, but not really advertised. If someone “knew” to order it on their truck, they could, so the Anomalies are out there. It was a “Regular Option” in 71-72. As far as 67-68 I don’t know, I’ve never seen any original SPID with the “Comfort-Tilt Steering” it from the factory.
