GM 12 bolt question
Will the axles from a GM 12 bolt rear end from a '72 fit a GM 12 bolt in a '68 ,assuming they are the original rear ends that came in that year truck. i.e. a '68 12 bolt and a '72 12 bolt, any difference?

From what I understand you will need a 3/4 inch spacer for both sides to make it work. But it can be done. Sometime in the middle of the 70 model year GM started using rear ends about 1 1/2 inch wider. The axles from 73 and up 12 bolts will also fit.
