Stock Three Hole Cluster ?
With the ignition on, engine off, how many idiot lights should appear ? I only have generator and oil showing. Is this normal ? Water temperature light has never lit up...thanks

Re: Stock Three Hole Cluster ?
The temp light should illuminate when the key is in the "start" position. I think that the oil light should too, although when the engine isn't running, the light would be on, anyway.

Re: Stock Three Hole Cluster ?
Temp and brake warning lights should come on only while the key is in the cranking position.
As mentioned the generator and oil pressure lights would normally be on when key on but not running. They might go out while cranking (especially the oil one).

Re: Stock Three Hole Cluster ?
When I turn the key to the first position I have a oil pressure and generator light. So the other two lights in the fuel gauge on right should be parking brake & temperature ? ...thanks...they have never worked ?

Re: Stock Three Hole Cluster ?
The Brake warning is from the distribution block, not the e-brake pedal/handle. If the front or rear service brakes lose pressure it should illuminate.

Re: Stock Three Hole Cluster ?
So the temperature light does not come on in the on position to indicate it’s functional ? Like the gen and oil pressure ?

Re: Stock Three Hole Cluster ?
No, when you are in the cranking key position, the brake and temp lights should light up for test.

Re: Stock Three Hole Cluster ?
Mine do not light up ever ? How can bulbs that only illuminate for a moment burn out ? Guess it’s time to pull the cluster.

Re: Stock Three Hole Cluster ?
If they don't light up, it could be:
bad/missing bulbs ignition switch not grounding ignition switch not making the temporary contacts missing/damaged wiring to the ignition switch (dark green for temp, tan for brake) bad/dirty contacts on the panels printed circuit either at the harness plug or at the bulb socket holes. bulbs often blow from the thermal shock of turning on when cold.

Re: Stock Three Hole Cluster ?
You should be able to remove the brake and temperature bulbs from the back of the cluster without removing the cluster from the dash.
