Questions
I noticed that my truck (69 c10) has the ignition switch in the dash, rather than on the column, could this be due to the fact that it was a former three on the tree? I know that my 68 impala had a ignition switch on the dash, but my 69 imp had it on the column. Anyone care to fill me in? Considering that autozone only lists switches that are in the column.
Another thing is, I noticed that the SBC sits back pretty far, and its currently running short accesories on it, would it be wise to run long accesories or what? I think I read something about the i6 to v8 swap, that you had to move the mounts forward? Is that true? Any way to tell that it wasnt done? Thanks Last edited by 1BadSS; 07-20-2004 at 07:50 AM. |

Trucks did not go to column mounted ignition switches until 1973. If you need a new switch, vendors listed at the front of this web site will have them.
Your V-8 should have a short water pump set up. Does the fan fit into the shroud or is it too far back? Jim |

Well, there's no shroud, and i've only pulled the motor on a 71ish c10 before, so I guess i'll run down to that junkyard that I got the motor from the truck and see if I can get the shroud, because I know it was in good shape when I took it out. Thanks for the help Jim. I really like the igniton switch on the dash for some reason.
