That law was repealed a long time ago. The only counties that are enforcing it are ones that haven't been challenged or else the judges are Deecks. http://www.iwfa.com/industry.htm You can legally install tint that allows 70% or MORE light through. Granted thats barely shading it, but you can still legally install it.

get a film that reflects the heat, just darkness isn't the trick.

case in point, I drove a 2001 chevy 1500 that had factory tint
1/2 less as dark as mine, and you could feel the difference.

If heat is not your concern, you just want dark, I agree with N2TRUX
grab some black spray paint and get busy

ps, dont forget the clear coat
