8 lug 15 inch rims?
Is there such a thing as 8 lug 15 inch basic steel wheel that you can put a full wheel cover on?

May not clear the brakes, don't think it exists.

Re: 8 lug 15 inch rims?
Many years ago I bought 15x8" white spoke wagon wheels for my K20. Very minor clearance issues and had to grind just a small amount of material from the calipers.
I'm almost positive I have seen what you're asking about, Mark, but I don't remember where. EDIT: a 30-second search found 'em at Jeg's, Summit, & other places....

Re: 8 lug 15 inch rims?
I bought a set of 16 inch adaptor rings to use with 15 inch caps in Carlisle with NOS square suburban caps. They are out there

Re: 8 lug 15 inch rims?
Years ago I had a 69 short step with big block. I had converted to 3/4 ton brakes to stop the thing in a decent amount of time. In the process I bought a 8 lug 15'' rims . They cleared the rear 14 bolt drums and with minor sanding they cleared the front discs.

Re: 8 lug 15 inch rims?
There used to be 15" steel wheels made for 8-lug but probably not now other than custom-made. If you find anything used they can be wagon wheels or other aftermarket steel. Rims were all the same standardized design... as if that made sense.

Re: 8 lug 15 inch rims?
Have to ask : Why?
Doubt that you would find a tire with any type of load rating in 15 “

Re: 8 lug 15 inch rims?
They do exist, or at least they did. I worked in a tire shop in the late 70s, early 80s and we would see em occasionally. There were more large (35, 36.5, not large by toady's standard) off road tires for 15 inch wheels back then so that was the reason most 3/4 ton guys that I knew of wanted em. They didn't care about the load rating necessarily.
I upgraded to 3/4 ton axles on my blazer and had money invested into my tires so I ran em for a year or so as well. Now days, I would go for the full cover adaptors instead of 15" wheels if that was the look you were going for. |

Re: 8 lug 15 inch rims?
I figured those ring adaptors were even more rare than a 15 inch 8 lug wheel. Never considered the wagon wheels. I may have some of those in my wheel pile, Ill have to take a look. Might be 16 or 16.5's though

Re: 8 lug 15 inch rims?
Yes they do . I sold my 36 x 15s to a guy who hat 12x15 8 lugs on his 07 F250 and they cleared his brakes.

Re: 8 lug 15 inch rims?
The wheel cover adapters are the way to go, if you can find 16". But there are heavier 15" tires made (or were). LT series are available.
These are 15 x 10s. I originally bought them from Cepek for my '69 Dodge W200 (drum brake) because both tires and wheels were a lot cheaper than 16.5s. The smaller rim also made the tires look bigger, which was fine by me (37/14.50). On the '71 I just had to grind the caliper on the ridge of the casting seam a bit

Re: 8 lug 15 inch rims?
I ran 3 new sets of 17x40x15s on my 2 wheeler before I down sized to 36s and then slamed the C10 to the ground

Re: 8 lug 15 inch rims?
I have a 3/4 ton that I put 1/2 ton hubcaps on. They were chrome spoke "wagonwheels" 15 inch on my 68 GMC. The best improvement was putting on the hubcaps it looked so much better after. Jim

Re: 8 lug 15 inch rims?
You just reminded me. My friend bought and went over a 1/2 decent Cheyenne to sell at Carlisle a few years ago. It had 8" chrome modular wheels or other 8-hole wheels. He stuck a set of wheel covers on it looed 100% better. Looks good with wider tires and stance, too. I have a picture that shows it a little
