Re: BUCKET SEATS in a 1984 ??

Got my center seat brackets (from Ken Whitman) welded in today.
Friend of mine did it, I think he did great job. Very happy.

Now if I could just get my saddle seat covers from USA1,
that would help me decide on color for console paint, carpet, etc.

Re: BUCKET SEATS in a 1984 ??

If your getting the covers as I am, I would use the 73-76 Saddle. That’s what I’m going to do the console in. It would be the color on these belts. Both are the same color, it’s just the lights.
Your buddy did a good job.

Covers were ordered as "75-76 Saddle color". Thinking I would order from USA-1 their 75-76 Saddle dye/paint.
Do you think that's best product instead of SEM ? I've used SEM several times and it was fine
but think I remember reading you prefer USA-1 paint ?

Also will be looking to you Tina for seat belts to match the color in the future, 3 point setup correct for 1984.
Maybe in a couple months. Thank you

The USA1 dyes cover really well. Here's my dash that started black and is now '76 blue

I like the USA1 dye because there is no guessing on the color. And SEM has discontinued a lot of our colors. I’ve been using USA1 dye for a longtime now, and have never been disappointed.
Now when it comes to the seatbelts, I don’t change the color of seatbelts, and the 73-76 Saddle color are only on those year of belts. It’s on the 72 also, which is the one pic I posted above. The 84 is light Saddle Tan, which is a different tan.

Tina, the second set of seat belts you pictured in 73-76 saddle, would those fit and bolt right in to my 84? and are they 3-point?

If so, would you have a set for sale ?

How did you locate the brackets? Bolt them to the seats brackets, bolt the seat brackets to the floor and mark them?

I installed the seat only bolted on 3 corners and resting on the center (4th) bracket.
Tack welded the center bracket, removed the seat, and finished the weld.
Then reinstalled seats.

Nice job, everything looks great! Just curious, could these have been bolted on?

Some people did bolt them in but access to the bottom side can be difficult if there is a fuel tank in the way.

You still need the center perches for support which need to be welded in place otherwise the seats won’t be level and will sink towards the middle
