Re: Upgrading Slider Window - Keep SS Trim or not?
OEM sliders have screws affixing the top hoop to the bottom bar at the corners. If the pieces are welded together at the corners its aftermarket. The date code on the glass may also give a clue.

Keep the SS trim...
Hope it does turn out to be a factory slider. That'd be cool whatever way you go...

Boo, not Factory.
Glass date code is 1984 and there are little brackets that I assume are welded in place.

Re: Upgrading Slider Window - Keep SS Trim or not?
Still haven't gotten in my rear slider window installed, my neighbor hasn't been able to help. On the upside Summit magically delivered my SS Trim gasket today - they swore on the phone last week it wouldn't ship any earlier than Jan 31th to *their* warehouse from the vendor.
I tell you what, that was really a lot of fun installing the SS Trim onto the gasket, NOT! It took me over 2 hours to get on, that thing is a PITA. I watched two different YouTube, over and over, not that it helped me get it done any faster.

Re: Upgrading Slider Window - Keep SS Trim or not?
Finally installed with SS Trim - had to punt to an installer as seems everyone I tried is all tied up for a few more days and I just didn't want to be without my truck anymore Ha!
