Help, i need some help from you 4X4 guys
I am having a hard time making up my mind on what to do. I have the hugger orange 72 lwb 2wd truck that you see by my name. I thought that i wanted to swap this truck over to a 4wd, so i bought a 3/4 ton chassis from teeitup that had a th400/205 combo and 396 fully rebuilt. Shortly after i bought it, i decided that maybe i wanted to leave the truck the way it is and start to build another truck. But one of the major problems with the 2wd is too much power, and i keep breaking transmissions, so i thought the th 400 would solve that problem. Also, i built the orange truck when i wasn't married, so i used a lot of good parts that i couldn't buy today (with my husband duties)
So my question, if this was your truck, would you convert it, or leave it and put together another truck that wouldn't be near as nice? The 2wd is in no way stock. I know that it is my truck, and i should do what makes me happy, but i'm really stumped on this one guys. All ideas appreciated. Thanks David

David, If it was me I keep the 2wd as is and build an 4x4 as time/money permits.It really sounds you dont want to take the 2wd apart anyways from the sound of your post.
From you sigature it appears you already have a 4x4 correct? Goodluck on your decision. Ray

leave the 2wd alone and ill come get that 4x4 chassis LOL j/k keep the 2 wheeler and build ya a beater 4 wheeler

it looks like a nice looking truck. get a beater to make a 4x4 so you dont have to worry about scratches and dents and stuff. unless your going to make a 4x4 just to look at

thanks for the help guys, to answer 72 super, i also have a 72 cheyenne super k20 that i'm frame offing on the side, probably to drive for a little while and selling. I think that i have made up my mind that i will find a body donor and have a 4X4 that i can use.

I still think you should keep the 2wd as is, too nice to mess up. Get a body and get the 4x4 going and you can still enjoy the 2wd while you're doing this 4x4 project.

not to steal the thread but it made me think of something ive been wondering. if you take a body off one truck and frame off the other which title do you use? i think your going to say frame but i dont want to hear it as my title is for my body and got me a little worried been titled this way before i bought and never came up till i started looking at all the numbers and such.

I have been educated (LOL) on titles and such here in Mo by the State Patrol. I asked a lot of questions. The most important title to have is the one for the cab with the original vin tag. The title for the frame is not nessesary if you can so a reciept of ownership. Whats the chance of them looking at numbers on your frame? Thats what they asked me..... Each state has different laws.

yea definatley leave the 2wd and build the 4x4 as time allows. build the drive train then get a beater body, and then if you want you can do the body and make it look as sweet as your 2 wheeler
