Dazed and Confused C10

For some reason I had always thought the truck was a Cheyenne Super. But I went down a Utube rat hole the other day and ran into Dazed and Confused stuff.

Looks like its just a black C10 with a red interior. Dash doesnt seem to have wood grain. It only has the lower trim with the black in the middle. But it does have the Cheyenne Super emblems on the fenders =)

My guess is there have been threads about this truck in the past. But why not a fresh one?

Anyone see this movie and the black "Super" is what got you in to these trucks?

I wonder what happened to it? Im sure its been found by now.

Re: Dazed and Confused C10

Don't know about the super part (seems odd someone would fake it back then) but I know it's fun to visit the Top Notch Hamburgers Drive-In with my C10! I think I need to get photos the next time to go there :-)

Though I think I'd like to have those front bumper things... looks like they'd go right on my chrome bumper!

100% My favorite 90s movie. Can't even tell you how many time I watched it in my teens. Probably a huge reason why I fell in love with 67-72s.

Hey man, you got a joint?

Uhh, no; not on me man.

It'd be a lot cooler if you did.

Re: Dazed and Confused C10

For what it’s worth I’m guessing it’s a 71 by the looks of the mirror location and the fact that 72 trucks didn’t have red interior. My eyes aren’t what they used to be but it at least looks like the mirror up high.

Re: Dazed and Confused C10

One of my all time favorite movies. My buddies and I still quote lines from that movie all the time. I always had a thing for Bennys C10. One of the best scenes in the movie was when they went to chase after those freshman. The truck fish tailed when Benny hammered the go pedal. Jim Dandy to the Rescue!

Re: Dazed and Confused C10

All I know is they didn't show that truck enough. I was into these trucks long before that movie. Around 89/90 or so, I had a black with red interior SWB CST/10 396 all cherried out to original state. There was plenty of action with these trucks as special interest back then. Not as widespread as now with the internet and all the car TV shows. Hemmings always had a half dozen or so listed. Back then we were only interested in the well preserved high option trucks, except for daily drivers. The same as with the muscle cars only less truck guys than car guys. Cheyenne Supers didn't come with red interiors. I don't think Cheyennes did either. There was probably more emblem swapping and non-original trim swapping done back then than now. You would see Cheyenne Super stuff put on 69/70s. I'd look at a really nice 69/70 and turn away for that reason, thinking, "Isn't it being a CST good enough? Let it be what it is". Back then, it was all about the '72s. People would see me in any 67-72 and say, "Nice '72", I guess because it was the body before the 73-87 that was seen everywhere you went. Dazed and confused was done as looking back at the '70s even back then, and the producers chose the 71/72 Chevy because they were known to be of interest at the time the movie was made.

Loved that movie! And although I'm not old enough to have lived in the time it took place, it certainly gives me the nostalgia feels for wishing I had. Of course the music of era drew me in, but also one of the many reasons I became an avid fan of these trucks
