Another rear end question
Will a 2wd 73-up leaf sprung rear end (1/2 ton, 12 bolt) bolt right up to a 67-72 2wd frame? Are the leaf perches the same distance apart and do the shock mounts line up? Thanks in advance.

Re: Another rear end question
I would like to know, as well, thanks for a good question...
Moser lists axles shaft lengths the same for all 12 bolts from 1970 till 1982 (when they quit making 12 bolts for pickups (I think?...) The axle shafts are ALL listed as the SAME length. Supposedly info I've read here, the axle length wsa not the same for all of 1970... Anyhoo. My point is the axles were same length, supposedly. It would be cool if 73-up rears would bolt into 67-72's with leaf springs!!!! Being CHevrolet/GMC its possible!!!! It would not be likely with other makes... |

Re: Another rear end question
IDK 100% if they're an exact match @ the pads as far as dimensionally but I know of a couple of guys that swapped 73-87 housings under their trucks (4x4's).
I might be able to access the original 12bolt from my old 74 to get a dimension @ the center of the spring pads if needed?
