I say do what you want to with the Jeep. If you throw it back together as is, but you're really wanting the TDI, you're not going to enjoy the Jeep when it's running. If the new 4.0 and trans is what your really want, then go that route.

My dad wanted to throw a drive train in the panel truck so he could drive it before I cut it up and did what I'm doing. I told him I wasn't going to build it twice. I learned so much with the Jeep/trailblazer build, the panel truck is almost putting itself together. Even I can believe how quickly it's coming together.

What I'm saying is build it the way you want the first time.
