Anybody here put a 5-spd in their blazer/jimmy?

Just curious if they have and what tranny and any difficulties they encountered. Looking at a 4x4 automatic blazer right now, 205 t-case, really would rather have a M/T than an auto and curious about the possibility of a swap.

afaik, there are no manual trannies with a 27 spline output (which the th350 has) so you will need to find another transfer or put in a new input shaft to match whatever transmission you use.

Gear it for what you want for the hwy and put a 465 in it. It's got enough granny to deal with it. Other option is go with a NP208 if you don't plan to wheel it hard. A late 80's 208 with a 465 is not tooo uncommon and they als had a hydraulic clutch.
Any other way is going to get REAL expensive but it can be done. You can get adaptors for the NV4500 but you will need to get a TH400 NP205 or a late 80's 465 205 with the 40 spline input. Or change your input to a 40 spline but the case has to be machined to handle the bigger bearings that input needs.

If you end up going with a 465 and 205, I have that combo in my 71 Blazer. We might work out a trade for your T350/ 205 combo.

Let me know if you decide to go that route.
