Re: Mexican C10 SWB truck????
My initial intention was to leave everything original and that bed is growing on me. But I don't think I can use it as a daily driver with that 4 speed transmission so I was thinking of an LS swap.

Re: Mexican C10 SWB truck????
I’m a vote for originality as well. I believe these are some of the most rare c10’s, at least in the states.
Do you happen to have photos of the original SPID and gauge cluster? Does it have a heater delete?

Re: Mexican C10 SWB truck????
Original would be cool. But with the traffic speeds in the Phoenix area, not sure it would be so cool. But I would give it a go before committing to the LS swap combo. Problem is you might make it so nice, you`ll be worried about driving it daily and make it a weekend cruiser. Nice problem to have.

Re: Mexican C10 SWB truck????
I would never change that bed. You have something unique and special for north of the border. You would get all the attention at any truck event

Re: Mexican C10 SWB truck????
I've been driving it to work, and it its not too bad. I have ordered a sending unit because my fuel indicator is dead. I also believe to have an exhaust leak, there is ticking noise coming from underneath the cab. My next project is to rebuild the carburetor and identify exactly where the noise is coming from. I think I will slowly work with what I have and maybe down the road I will reconsider the LS swap.

Re: Mexican C10 SWB truck????
Yes, the translation is accurate. Cinturones de seguridad translates to safety belts and the 1.82 mts would equal to a 6ft bed. I haven't had time to check the glove box or to take a picture of the gauge cluster, it's all in Spanish.
You guys don't happen to know or have a picture of a pickup truck with those two paint colors? I would like to see if that could be a possibility when I get to the point of the bodywork. |
