Auto tranny guru's....i have questions!
about 2 weeks ago i was driving down the highway in the 67, going maybe 60 mp/h , and in a second or two i heard a loud whining noise, i pulled over, checked everything out, all the levels seemed good so i went straight home, when i pulled back onto the highway the noise was gone, i came on here and asked about it and was told to do the filter and fluid in it, which i did last week, everything was great, but then today it made that whining noise again, both times it has done this the truck was at running temp, and it was probably around 33 degrees, or mid 80s?? F...the th400 has its own tranny cooler mounted behind the grille and infront of the rad, im wondering if the tranny fluid isnt getting cool enough maybe? i dont know much about auto trannys and im stumped here, it seems like its loudest when im at a steady rpm and at a faster speed, and if i punch it the noise goes away, what could this be? is the pump being starved of fluid??? im hoping i can get this sorted out before something bad and expensive happens ! so any ideas or anyone who might know whats going on lets here it! thanks in advance
Derek
