Angry Owning a Yukon is Killing me!

I had the starter solenoid go out on me with no warning! As usual, my wife was driving it and I blamed her bad karma!

I went to every tom, dick, and harry, shop and no one has the solenoid except GMC. Hmmm how convenient. AC Delco has a part number for just the solenoid but no one carries it BUT, get this, they do sell you the starter with the solenoid attached. It goes from a $40 solenoid to a $337 starter! They did happen to mention that I get a $56 core charge back when I return it! If it would have died at home I would have rebuilt or monkey rigged another in there but 35 miles from home and in a shopping mall lot just doesn't cut it. Sorry for venting but I'm hating modern technology and I may begin to send you my responses through the good ol' US POstal Service!

Good luck on keeping our trucks on the road!

I don't know if it would work with the newer starters/trucks, but with the older trucks you can run a remote soleniod if the starter is still good... Summit sells the kit for $30. You can mount the soleniod whereever you like. It is similar to the F**d starter/solenoid set-up.
