Arrow Canadian Steel

I've been looking for this truck a loooong time. I've had a few of these in my early years and loved every one of them.
I managed to save up enough money to finally start my search. I spent about a year perusing ads and finally this one showed up on a local Kijiji ad. I was one of the first to reply to the ad and managed to get some detailed information about the truck. The truck was built in Canada and spent its life in Lethbridge area with a farmer who simply drove it across the road once in awhile to fill up a few of the animals troufs and drove it back and parked it. Well eventually the old guy passed away and the truck sat for years. The Widow kept that truck for 10 years in the Quonset. She finally decided to sell the truck to someone who would give it a better home. Her grandson managed to get the truck running again and posted it on Kijiji where I scooped up the ad. Well it didn't take about a day before he took the ad off of Kijiji because of the number of calls he had on it. I let him know that if he ever wanted to sell that truck please give me a call first he never did respond. I had a feeling that one day this truck would be back on Kijiji. I scrolled through the ads every day and about six months later that ad came back up. Since I had his telephone number already I gave him a quick call and offered him some money he accepted. I hammered down on the Harley to Lethbridge and was there by noon. I did not even look at the truck as I walked by it into the garage to do the paperwork. The seller asked me if I would like to have a better look at the truck. I simply let him know that this was the truck that I've been looking for a long time and laid the money down on the table. We loaded up the Harley-Davidson shook hands and off I was with a grin from ear-to-ear. Now the project starts.

I'm going to keep this truck as factory as possible. Truck had original paint and had never been in an accident. The interior needs a few items.

Managed to find this elusive sandalwood steering wheel up in Saskatchewan. Buddy posted an ad for a cab only for sale. I noticed the parchment interior and asked him if he happened to have a sandalwood steering wheel. He went and took a look and his parts and manage to find this one. I picked it up for $65 plus shipping.

Found this original Highlander Bench Seat here in Calgary last summer. I'm guessing that since the lines run sorta horizontal that this is GMC seat.

Can anyone give me some info on this seat. The tag was attached to the frame in behind the seat.

Found these on the Canadian side near Ottawa. The owner found the stashed away in boxes all these years later. He said they were off of a 1972 K2500 just like mine. What are the chances of this happening....chaccchhhingg eh!

Under bed spare tire hanger complete from a good member here on the forum. Tiz a pain sometimes when the tire in the box is in the way. Figuring I'll be hauling a camper or a harley in there sometimes. So this will be a nice addition to the build.

Thank you!

I picked up this deal in Saskatchewan. Tailgate and front grill. Drove 6 hours from Alberta to get these parts. Definitely needed a tailgate! Mine was pooched! My front grill also had a little dent in it so the front grill with the deal came in handy too!

One of the emblems is detective on the passenger side of the truck. Picked these up from a member here on this site.

Scored these fog lights from an old car collector in Langdon, Alberta. Paid $80.00 for them. Pretty sure I got a good deal on them. Really not sure what they were off of, but the guy figured 60's maybe.... i'm thinking with the hardware.... maybe 70's? I'll have to get some CIBIE covers. They'll look great!

Finally received the Highlander Seat material from the manufacturer. Didn't think this was ever going to happen... sometimes you gotta shake your head at the pain one has to endure while hunting down these items. This one was painful..... but, eventually worth it.

Got the seat re-upholstered by an old guy who spent his life in the industry here in Calgary. Not bad considering the old fart was 80 years old and had **** for eyesite. I guess the lines that should line up that don't add an element of uniqueness to it!
