07-up long tube headers on 2002 2500hd

I am wanting to do long tubes on my 2002 2500hd. The long tube headers for the next body style up (gmt900 07 up) are $115 while the ones for the gmt800 are around $200. They look almost identical. Has anyone ever tried running the newer headers on an older truck? Ive seen where someone put older style on a newer truck, but never the other way.

Thanks
Lynn

You’ll likely have clearance issues as the frames are slightly different.
