Vintage Air Vent Door Question

Hey guys,

I was wondering if anyone who has the Vintage Air Gen IV setup kept the fresh air vent in the passenger kick panel functional?

From the instructions it looks like the kit for factory AC trucks includes a kick panel cap to block off that door. The no factory AC kits look like they do not include the panel cap and the instructions make no mention of doing anything with the kick panel door.

Thanks for any help.

Re: Vintage Air Vent Door Question

The passenger vent door on an A/C truck is vacuum operated. So, there is no pull handle, and no room to leave the vacuum diaphragm. Non A/C you could leave it. I'm not sure you can open it 100% however.

On my 67 non A/C truck, I used an Old air system and have both vents fully functional.

Re: Vintage Air Vent Door Question

My instructions show the block off plate on page 10. Page 11 shows the installation of it. This is what I did. If your instructions dont show it I can send you the pdf file. I left my vent doors and handles in place even though the right side will not work

Re: Vintage Air Vent Door Question

I left the passenger side vent functional, but it will not open fully.

Re: Vintage Air Vent Door Question

My '67 is a a/c cab. I installed my Vintage Air system and converted the passenger side vent to manual. It opens all the way with no issues.
