They went for $48.50 in 1963 according to the Data Book. One of the costliest accessory in 63. When you consider the whole truck base model short box Fleetside was $1837.00.

Re: 1960-1963 fleetside bed rails (accessory)

I've seen originals as high as $2,000 for a set. If you want something more affordable, take a look at the mini-tube version from Custom Auto Trim. Everything is solid stainless steel or stainless steel tubing. They even come with sealing screws that have adhesive embedded in the threads. They even work well for strapping down a load, and don't get damaged like originals. I'm very pleased with mine, even though I don't use them any more.

Just noticed that mine are opposite of those in post #3. I would like to know which is correct.

Thanks,

Seen it the opposite like yours before. Nice accessory, what other accessory do you have on your truck?

Really adds to an already nice truck. Something with the fender skirts, side moldings and side rails, seems to all come together.

Re: 1960-1963 fleetside bed rails (accessory)

Was there a shorter version for 64-66? My '66 has a very similar set but they seem shorter than the ones posted here. They're assembled just like the instruction sheet in post 9 shows. They're also longer and mount over the stake pockets. Any info on if they're an updated/newer version of the 60-63 accesory, or if they're aftermarket?

I'll probably keep them. Dad knew the original owner and said that they've been on the truck since new so I kinda hate to take them off.
