Re: '51 Rusto-Mod

In Calgary we have 10 inches of snow overnight, still snowing now. You gotta have a heated garage around here if you wanna do much.

gahhhh. thats terrible. i forget what it is like to live up north and have to deal with outside weather that you cant really work in. today is 80 and sunny here, and it will be at least 40 and sunny till jan. here is a long distance back pat.

Re: '51 Rusto-Mod

when I worked up north in the really cold we used surplus parachutes to cover equipment and then ran a heater inside. the heat made the parachute expand like a balloon. there was quite a difference in inside to outside temp so maybe not work quite as well, but then you already have a structure for it to sit on.

Re: '51 Rusto-Mod

The tarp would have to be at least 38 x 58 to completely cover to the ground, being this thing is not weatherproof...at all. I thought about snagging a ventilation blower from work being they only need propane to turn into a heater/blower(and they can put out good heat), but still have to worry about wetness dripping onto paint.
I was playing on the late summer too long and saw the 10 day forcast too late.

Re: '51 Rusto-Mod

And I do have a heated shop(24 x 24), but has a snowmobile, snowblower, backup generator, mower, S10 truck, sand blast cabinet, set of wheel/tires for S10's, storage racks, full lenght work bench with compressor and tool boxes. Can barely fit the 51 in and work on parts of it. This is it's state until spring.

Haha, too funny. Reminds me of mine. 26x30.
You need a big shed to store stuff in so you have room to work.

Re: '51 Rusto-Mod

look at all you rich guys with your big garages. i still work mostly in the driveway because the 19x19 attached is full of metal, tools, and is too cramped for most work anyway.

i do have a packed full 30x50 though , so dsraven is right.
