Finished up mine. Hangs a little low so i may have to mod it a little in the end but all and all im happy with it. First tig welding project, pressure tested to 20psi and I can stand on it (220lbs) when installed between the frame. I will end up putting the pick up, return, and vent all on the metal access plate.

Re: Any pics of rear gas tanks?
Here's an idea if you want your tanks out of sight. These are custom made stainless tanks, one on each side, held up with fabbed up brackets. They hold over 20 gallons each, and you have to get on your hands and knees to see them. No gas doors, no fuel cap in the box floor, nothing. The filler cap is inside the fender well that gives access for the gas nozzle. I will put a small can over each filler neck to keep the cap and neck clean. Fuel tank switcher under the dash, and senders in each tank to read on the guage. It makes maximum use of all that space under there, and I use the area in the back for a space saver spare held up by a GM spare tire bracket.

Re: Any pics of rear gas tanks?
Ok so last time I checked in with you guys I had the Tanks Inc. tank in my frame. Here's what I've done lately. I didnt want a cap in the floor, so I made an access panel. The front edge rests on a cross sill and the back sits on the big support sill at the tailgate. I cut the strips and they do a decent job of disguising the long cuts in the wood. It is sturdy enough to stand on too. Since my floor is all 5/8 plywood anyhow, fashioning a door seemed logical to me.

Re: Any pics of rear gas tanks?
I used a 92 Jeep Wrangler tank.
It fits between the rails and sits higher than the rear differential. Mrhino has a pic of what it looks like on his silver dollar build. |

Re: Any pics of rear gas tanks?
Here are some installed... not plumbed... Boyd's Welding tank. They make a beautiful piece. And when you are ready for EFI, just need to buy the pump and dropped it in! AND on a sidenote, Can someone PLEASE tell me how to flip the photos. They are orientated correctly when I attach them.
