Specs for rear differential

Hello
I have searched the forum and have found various answers
I also have the 60-66 assembly manual but it does not have these answers

I powder coated the rear axle and want to assemble back to stock, not changing anything.

1962 235 I6 C10 long bed 10 bolt

What is the backlash ? .007 give or take a thousandth??
What is the pinion nut torque?
What is the cover plate torque?
What is the opposite side torque, the part the pinion is installed in?

Thank you for any help

Re: Specs for rear differential

Truck 10 bolt from a later year squarebody, or stock 62 HO32? If it's a squarebody rear, you just might be searching in the wrong spot. Please post a picture to help us help you

Re: Specs for rear differential

Here are some pics.

I believe and hope it is the 62 stock one.

I never took one complete but only as I stripped it down.

Like I said it went to get powder coat with the rest of the chassis and suspension.

Let me know what you think it is and appreciate the help with the specs

Re: Specs for rear differential

Looks like the stock Eaton HO32/33. I think those specs are in the Service Manual. I’ll look later today.

After rebuilding my 66 12 bolt I've learned a few things. There is no set pinion nut torque, that gets tightened until the correct preload is on the pinion bearings unless 10 bolt doesn't have a crush sleeve. As for the cover torque, I've never looked up torque specs on covers or tins that seal with a gasket. I tighten them by feel where they are tight enough but not so much they crush and split the gasket.

Re: Specs for rear differential

Thank you everyone who responded, very helpful. I appreciate it. I will get the shop manual to verify everything and should be a good resource for the rest of the build.
Thanks
