Dougs Complete exhaust LS Swap

Just thought I'd pass along as I hadn't seen anything on the forum but Dougs is making an exhaust system for LS swaps for the trucks now too. Similar to the Holley Blackheart it tucks up. I just ordered it from Summit mainly due to price. Summit has it for $869 right now compared to Holley $1,350 for 3" 304SS system. It does have V bands at the collectors which I'll probably cut off depending how it interfaces the speed engineering headers. Any one else installed this exhaust yet? https://pertronixbrands.com/products...38110459232427 I'll add to my build thread the install when it comes in hopefully this weekend.

Re: Dougs Complete exhaust LS Swap

Exhaust system showed up today. Started to hang the rear of the system as i need to cut the holes in the crossmember still. Clears the fuel tank and axle and panhard bar nice.

Directions are not the greatest so figured I'd post a few pics of some brackets together. Also I have a 67 and my frame only had one of the holes needed on the rear shock cross member and had to drill the other for the bracket.

Re: Dougs Complete exhaust LS Swap

I'm following along out of curiosity as I developed the Hooker Blackheart C10 exhaust system they reverse-engineered their system off of. Hopefully the components of the Blackheart system they purchased to do the copying off of fit our build fixtures really well, or they will have stacked tolerances built into their system. You'll know soon enough I suppose.

Looks good, I wouldn't cut the v bands off, I'd add the correct mate to the headers.

Sucks they flat copied the blackheart system though....

Re: Dougs Complete exhaust LS Swap

Nice, how did the rest of the system fit? Is it 2.5" or 3" pipe? Thanks!

Re: Dougs Complete exhaust LS Swap

Keep the board in the loop on fitment.
Lots of variables, like your rear fuel tank that make the pre-bent systems difficult.

Looks like it has a removable section for transmission removal. Either that or it was made shorter to cut shipping costs? The glass half empty view I guess. When I had my exhaust system installed the only thing I was crystal clear about was the transmission has to be able to come out without cutting the exhaust. When my stall converter arrived guess what? Transmission would not come out without cutting up the new exhaust.
Cheers.
