Buddy bucket

I saw a set of buddy bucket seats for sale on marketplace for $3500 needed new covers. Have these people gone crazy like the $4500 for 72 sport buckets. My buddy buckets need upholstery and so do my sport buckets. What is the real price that these are going for?

Re: Buddy bucket

Im not sure what they really sell for. Turlock swap meet had a few sets of the buddy buckets, none that were redone. One set was asking $2000, a nicer set was at $1200 OBO.

Re: Buddy bucket

I was shopping for buddy buckets recently, and the price of this really nice reproduction ($1300) drove what I was willing to pay for a original. I was getting really close to ordering the Slosh Bucketz, and then a board member offered me a set of originals for $1500 that had been reupholstered several years ago.

Re: Buddy bucket

The question shouldn't be what he was asking but what he sold them for?

Re: Buddy bucket

I paid 1150.00 for a nice set. At a swap meat. Perfect frame, jack instructions still in console. No rust.
All oem seat cover but both passenger and driver lower but section cover needs repair as the seems are separated. I am hoping they can be repaired.
I believe the foem is ok, maybe needs a little patch filler???

I have seen a few completely rebuilt buddy's for sale for 2500.00 but not very often.
Good luck if your looking for a set as most people are holding on to them.

$1300 is just for the frame. Add foam $700 ? Add Covers $400 ? Add seat cover labor $300 & you are up to $2700 for new seat. That is the route I would go if I wanted a buddy bucket. Or pay $1000 for used and fix as you go. A far cry from the $2 buddy bucket my friend bought at auction 20 years ago. It was the Blue Heeler's bed !

Re: Buddy bucket

My $.02 prices stalled around $1,200 when the reproductions came out. Most people don’t value original seat frames more than new ones, and if you have to blast, coat, and buy foam and covers anyway it doesn’t make sense with new available.
