Saying goodbye to my blazer!!!
Well guys you can cry a few tears for me....I have seen a few threads on here from guys saying the wife is trying to take the truck in the divorce, but my husband of 7 years told me a few days ago he wants a divorce. One of the bad things is we just bought me a car a few days ago (Hmmmmm?) and he wants to keep the blazer. Most of you guys know that I have worked hard and done all I could to restore that thing, and he worked right along with me. I am in shock about my marriage, and I will certainly miss the blazer too!!! I put about 1000 miles on her in the last 2 months, and this completely sucks! I just don't think I can afford all that is coming up and not have to sell it. I am not bitter...yet....so I told him he could have the blazer. He doesn't have anything to drive besides his work truck (one-ton diesel chev)---okay- well I will still hang out on the board every once in a while, but this is a sad goodbye!

OMG sorry to hear that Diane. I'm lost for words! As I'm sure you were as well! You are a far better person than I would be ( remember that I'm a vendictive redhead)... he'd be driving the work truck whether he liked it or not! He's made the choice, not you! I'm really sorry bout you losing it tho! It's an awesome Blazer! Just cause you don't have one doesn't mean you have to leave... we're here to help!

In all seriousness though, best of luck to you through these tough times, if you need a shoulder to cry on, there are plenty of us here to listen!!!

That sux. I would let him drive the work truck, or walk. At the very least make him sell it and split the money. No way I would let him keep it. But nobody ever accused me of being nice.

it just ain't right dianne, it seems like every time i hear of a couple where the wife loves to get involved with the things that the husband is into, or vice versa the guy has to mess it up! sorry for the rant, it's just that i would be over joyed if my wife worked on a project with me, like you 2 have. and i have several, and i mean several, friends who have been married to a truely great lady, like you, that would go anywhere and do anything that they did, and be there working just as hard as the husband, and what do they do?...
they mess up and leave there lady devestated, and then spend the rest of there lives wondering what they were thinking, to leave the best situation they could have hoped for. Best of luck to you, and keep your chin up, Tony

Diane, words cannot express the sympathy I feel for you now. I can say take care of those Kids, they will need your strength through this. You may not get to take the Blazer with you but there may be a time and place for another one in your future. Hang in there. I, like many of the other board members will be here if you need anyone to talk too.
Brian

Sorry to hear it Diane. I'm going thru similar situation, my wife asked me to move out a long time ago, but I haven't been able to force her to divorce (and hoped she'd change her mind). She kept dragging things out. A couple weeks ago, she went out and got a lady lawyer that thinks my wife should get half of my retirement, all of the house, all of her retirement, our IRA and maintenance of $1000 a month. I'm 53 and have been planning on retiring at 55. I may have to work til I die and sell my truck to pay for the lawyers (yes I'm supposed to pay for her lawyer, too). But I'm not bitter...

support
Diane;
I like many others don't know you personally but have followed you and YOUR blazer through all the restoration. I too hope you can keep the kids from suffering too much. You can be assured that we will be here for moral support and as a truck distraction when needed. You truck turned out beautiful but if it will bring hard feelings maybe plan on another to replace it. Keep you head and love those kids, time flies and you will get through this. I know of a couple others who can relate better than I on this board. I assume maybe at least one who had a tough time has already contacted you via PM. Let any of us know what might be needed and maybe just a nice long talk once in a while. Take care.

Diane, that is shocking news. Keep your head up because it's his loss not yours. Take him through the ringer and make him sell everything including his work truck.
