67 kickpanel vents different handle location

Hi,
I purchased 2 new kickpanel vent doors, they were noted to be compatible with 1967 trucks but I'm finding that the mounting location for the control rod is different - it was up a couple of inches higher on my truck than the replacements are.

I don't want to drill new holes in the cab. Are there any alternatives other than repairing my original vent doors? Meaning does anyone sell the 1967 style?

BTW the vent doors themselves fit, its just the location of the control arms that's the issue.

I know the 67's use a different handle. Yet another example of '67 weirdness!

Can you flip the arm left for right . Then put the arm in from the top ?

If yo want to use your new vents you will need to drill new holes for the handles.

You can however rebuild your old ones and reuse them.

Yes 67 vents are stamped for the handle to sit sits higher and closer to the dash bottom. Also the 67 ac kick panel vent on the passenger vent sits higher as well. The rods are the same but the knobs are different as well.
