new brake lines 1972 Chevy C20
Hi Folks,
I have a 1972 3/4 ton (C20) Chevy truck (Cheyenne super) with coil springs in the rear, power front discs, and would like to replace all of the brake lines. I see that there are some stainless sets at summit racing, they say they will fit my truck. My question is, are the brake lines the same on the 1972s for the C10s and the C20s, or are they different? Does anyone on the forum have experience replacing the brake lines on a C20? Thanks in advance! Brian |

Re: new brake lines 1972 Chevy C20
I did mine last summer. The engine was out so it made the replacement very easy. If the engine is in and you don't have a lift, it's going to be a struggle but doable. You may want to look at this site as well. https://classictube.com/
I was impressed with the parts received and packaging. Todays proportioning valve is not 100% same as original. The bleeder port at the front has been replaced with an inverted flare port on every replacement unit I have seen. |

Check out inline tube! https://www.inlinetube.com
Looked it up and think that the c-10 and c-20 are the same. P/N CTB7208 11 piece steel for $155.

I used Inline Tube for my 67 C10, but they have listings for a 72 C20.

It looks like there is a stainless version set for $189. Is there a reason to go with the plain steel other than the lower price?

Re: new brake lines 1972 Chevy C20
I used inline tube for my 71 c20 with coils.. everything fit fine except for the rear axels, The rear tee on the axel was located in the wrong spot for the Dana 60. not sure if there are any differences in between the Dana or Eaton axle tee locations
