CALLIES 383 chevy stroker crank,Internally balanced, Bulletproof.
This is a Callies Stealth series crank (they use different series names now).It was their top of the line 4340 crank with 3.75 stroke. This crank can be used to make a 383 out of a 350 block or I guess it could be used, with main bearing spacers, in a 400, as a bulletproof 400 crank. I JUST got this back from Crankshaft- Specialist(Supercranks) in Memphis, Tn. where I had the whole thing gone over. I paid over $700 to have it magnafluxed, then blueprinted, indexed, shotpeened and hard chromed. The reason I spent that much on it is because it is a $1200 Crank to start with that had $350 worth of Mallory metal put in it and it is internally balanced and some other work done that would cost $1700 to duplicate it now. Crower sells a crank with similar specs for $1749.00 , . I also had the Rockwell hardness checked on it to make sure that it was still of 4340 standards and it is.The crank was NOT lightened, but still only weighs 56# (not the shipping weight) with all the mallory in it so in a Crower brand this would be considered the lightweight series. It is STD./STD and on the smaller side of the size criteria so you'll get the bearing clearances you need.. The hard chroming makes an extremely hard & durable journal surfaces that is nearly impervious to normal wear. I don't know how old it is because I didn't buy it new, All I know is that I spent the money to make it right and I want good $$ for it and Doug at C-S said It would cost you $1700 to duplicate it now. I'm sure no one is looking at this to make a backyard street engine, but you need to know that you must use good racing bearings with the large chamfer on the edges. I will consider trades on a set of new, bare or complete, 64cc, 23degree, 200 -225 intake cc, aluminum heads. I don't know anything more about this than I already wrote down. $895.00 and I may consider 16' open bottom car hauler trades or other things sellable.Looking for 200CC/64CC aluminum SBC heads also. I buy nostalgia hot rod & musclecar parts and buy/sell 73-87 Chevy trucks as a hobby. Located in southern, N.J. in Pennsville. Easy access from turnpike exit #1. located 5 minutes from Delaware Memorial Bridge and 30 minutes south of Philadelphia airport. Call 856-678-7883 before PM EST. or email . all4trux@snip.net . and be specific in 'subject' box please
