If you could re-do it?

What would you change about your truck that you have added/removed? I was just thinking how much I hate my roll pan and wished I would have done something different. My friend had one laying around and gave it to me so I figured it would be better than keeping the stock lights.

So what would you guy's change about your trucks?

I like the Roll Pans Like Yours But slopes down to the tag kinda like a cowboy bumper
\ And some of them lights that have the clear bowtie in the center for back up lights.

I HATE WITH A PASSION the 2004R in my 79. Automatics suck so badly, I don't understand how I bought one. Its been a major pain in the arse and never does what I want it too no matter how its tuned. If I could re-do anything to any of my vehicles it would be to shoot myself in the hand when I reach to call and order the 2004R and after the hospital I would order some sort of 5sp manual [TKO or richmond 5sp]

Is it REALLY that Bad Tom? I am wanting a 200 in place of the TH350 on my Jimmy, and eventually put a 5 speed in it. Guess I might need to rethink this one huh?

Yeah I just don't understand that theory either. You guys that take a perfectly good truck apart for no good reason just doesn't make sense.....

If I could change it, I WOULD have put the 383cid full-tilt motor in, instead of the GM Goodwrench Crate Engine. I ALMOST did...but then decided not to, because I didn't THINK they'd change the smog law to include 75's.
Also, I'd start off with 5" of drop in the front, instead of just 3".

Well Chris, to me yes. I had some things not go my way when I put it in. It won't shift perfect, but its finally close enough to live with it, most people would think its good. The TC unlocked on me after a 6hr road trip, after 2wks and a replaced TCC solenoid the people at bowtie overdrives gave up and couldn't tell me why. I finally replaced the 5000mile torque convertor and everything was fine. It will randomly spit out a good 2-3qts of fluid while sitting overnight, no real cause it just does it.

If I had to have an automatic overdrive, it would still be the 2004R. You need at least 3.42's IMO to work with it though, my 3.07's make overdrive not an option below 50mph. Wanna buy a nice 5sp and trade?

OK, now I can make everybody, including myself, SICK. I gave away a 1998 block wiht the Vortec heads. I got it from my bro-in-law as a core he pulled out for $100. I was originally going to build a 383 out of it so I thre away the cam, pistons, crank, etc. I have to stop now as I am getting sick once again. Kick myself in the arse. DOH!

My only regret is that I can't get the money back out of my 75 that I put in it but that happens whenever you modify. What are you going to do?

I'm ready to part it to maximize my return if it wasn't for the mess and the hassle. SHould have kept hthe 79 and converted it to a roadster with the parts off the 75.
