They built the bridge a while back makes it nice with drag racing track 45 min. away. The 283 does pretty good milage wise 10 kilometers per liter with the SM420 trans. I would like to get a hold of a t5 from a Camaro. Just hasent goten there yet. |

Re: 62 Burb project in the making.
Just got tired of the velocity stack, added a cheap air cleaner bottom and the K&N filter from the stack with the original air cleaner.

Re: 62 Burb project in the making.
Been a while. Just enjoying driving it. Had to have a picture of the 3 together. Wiped it down with boiled linseed oil and white terpintine. Works great.

Re: 62 Burb project in the making.
They are not all mine, there are quite a few at my buddys shop. I think he has about 10 of them now from 57-66 couple panels and mostly stepsides. We love this era truck. Bring them back to life with all their "Battle scars" but working perfect mechanically. I just couldent resist the photo op. There was one more but we dident have time to put it out there for the picture. All 4 are on the road. Now there is the other 6 or so.

Re: 62 Burb project in the making.
Great pic!!
I did the boiled linseed oil on mine a couple months ago. I really liked the results too! I heard about it from DD Speed Shop on Youtube.

Re: 62 Burb project in the making.
It ended up being nice with just a bit of rain at the start. around 200 miles so made a good trip. Not to bad on gas mileage either, around 20 MPG. Got to love the 283 with Q jet.

That sure would be a sight seeing that on the road in Danmark. Heck, they are getting pretty rare over here.

It does! Just put the rest of the sound deadener and carpet in today. Big difference.

Re: 62 Burb project in the making.
Been a while since I did an update on what has been done, not a lot but every bit helps. New rocker covers makes it a bit more period correct.

Re: 62 Burb project in the making.
Did the front sway bar from POL. I would think when they make a year specific 60-62 they might have made it so the original "extra holes" from shock placement would be able to be used. I understand that it is nice with the closer to the wheel and all that but when it is there already?

Re: 62 Burb project in the making.
Did the wide band sensor as well.
Makes it a bit easier to see where I'm at on the carb adjustments. |

Re: 62 Burb project in the making.
Getting a bit closer to finishing up the stereo I had done by Gary Tayman.com Excellent work on the restoration of the original 62 AM radio to a modern system. Now just have to try and remember all the combinations for the controls and clean up the wiring.

Re: 62 Burb project in the making.
Got a bit more done. just been driving the heck out of it, not really doing much.
Got the instrument panel in with the new tach and clockworks great. Got plans on a 327 for a winter project needs a bit more torque than the 283 to pull the OD on the 5 speed. |
