Windshield scratches
Has anyone polished or had a windshield polished for scratches? The scratches are very light and can't be felt. Think it was road grit and the wipers. If you were successful what did you use?

I bought some Cerium Oxide powder and buffer that I did not used so I'm not sure how difficult it is to do or how well it works. I found the set up by online searches and bought high quality stuff. Had to look up the compound name just now you might try Eastwood as a start for their product and reviews.

Cerium oxide is the only thing that will work. It takes lots of water, lots of time, and lots of patience. And if you can feel it with a fingernail, it's not coming out.

Bought the Eastwood kit few years back and it worked pretty well. They might even have a video.
Also maybe check youtube for videos on glass polishing.

I am going to buy Carpro CeriGlass and use it with the Carpro 5" rayon pad on my DA polisher to work on the windshield of my 65 Impala (and probably everything else I own).
THIS thread (first post) teaches you everything you need to know. A little CeriGlass, lots of polishing, and constant misting to keep the surface wet. |
