Electric fuel pump went out
Well BB was on the hook last night me and the wife went to make a In -N Out Burger run and BB shut down, as soon as I got over and tried to start it noticed the familiar sound of the Electric fuel pump wasn't there.
Well I was getting bored anyway now that it's painted so now I can tinker with it today. Come to think about it the last time BB let me down we were on a Tommy's run ,maybe he don't like fast food?

Gee Bill,
If it was Tommys, was it an exhaust issue? Thats usually everybodys problem after Tommys.

Is that an in tank late model pump?
If so, yeah, maybe you should toss one in the glove box. |

Andy it's just an in-line pump mounted under the cab . That why I can hear it so well when its running.

Thanks for the link. What else is out there? I won't be spinning that motor over 5 grand, so i don't need the 93 GPH. Just a simple low pressure pump, perferably on the cheap side.

You can get a vatozone special for like 39.99 I ran on on a fat block it did ok kinda puked out around 4700 But did fair otherwise. Price a holley red pump new in jegs those are about the best deal i can think of.
I had an old ac delco pump once not sure of the psi or GPH rating but it was a good pump I gave it to a friend to run his 390 |

re
I've been running a Carter rotory pump that I bought from Summit Racing about 10 years ago, it supplies 4-6 psi with 50 gph. It's inline and dependable, but it'll run you about 60 dollars. You can hear it run, barely. It doesn't sound like a McCulloch chainsaw running under your truck, which I've heard out of some of the cheaper ones. I heard a cheapie that was so loud you could hear over the radio and feel it vibrate through the frame sitting at a red light. My .02 worth! TJ

I run a Carter that is set to 5.5 PSI at factory. It is way bigger physically than the one BB posted. Hey BB72, is the AC pump fairly quiet?
My Carter is very loud.

Something you can do if your pump is too loud, use an old shock bushing under it when you mount it...that'll absorb alot of the vibrations that cause the sound to travel through the metal.
Thanks for the names/prices...I'll be looking into them probably. |

re
The Carter rotory pump is much quieter than the other types. They make some loud non-rotory pumps as well........
