Hatch hinge mount repair help

What is the best way to repair the inner side of hatch where the hinge bolts in? Is the metal piece inside just pop-riveted to the fiberglass, or is there some other reinforcement inside? The piece that's pop-riveted is loose and the fiberglass is cracked.

Re: Hatch hinge mount repair help

Well if I were going to repair this and not sure it's the best way. run some wire through the 3 bolt holes, drill out rivets slide support out of the way. Soak 2" fiberglass strips in resin and using your fingers (with gloves) put them on the inside do 2 layers of fiberglass and finish outside with fiberglass filler. drill the repaired rivet holes when cured, pull the bracket into place pop rivet to secure it in place. When I did repairs on my hatch I found the metal supports were pop riveted in place.
