Electronic Ignition conversion

Hi all. I have a 72 Blazer with a stock 350ci and original points distributor. I'd like to convert it to electronic ignition but the cap seems pretty close to the firewall. Can someone point me to a unit that would fit in there please? I'll admit I haven't searched around much yet, I decided to come to the experts first

Pertronix makes a small body electronic distributor that is the same size as your original distributor. It also looks like the original distributor. It also uses an external coil like the original distributor. I use this distributor on both my truck and blazer and have been satisfied with its performance. I have a full-size HEI in mine and I haven't done anything to the firewall. It's a tight fit, but it works.

You can also get an HEI distributor with a Remote Coil Cap. It has a lower profile and you put the distributor in the normal place and use a coil that sits in the traditional coil perch on the manifold, You have to find a coil that has the same resistance, voltage, and wattage as the stock modular coil.

I took a picture in case it helps. You can see that the plug wires are close to the firewall but there's a little bit of clearance. This is without modifying the firewall.

I have a electronic. On day some 25 years ago a great friend who was a gm dealership mechanic. Asked me one day to Borrow the blazer to go to work. Surprised me by replacing the stock distributor with stock electronic system (big cap). No mods were made to firewall.
