Re: Finish Wiring of a Stand Alone Harness

I went out to the wreckers today to an 08 Silverado. (my 5.3 is an 08).
I got the heavy positive cable from the battery to the mega fuse on the firewall. From there there's one cable that goes to the starter, one to alternator and one that goes across and feeds the under hood fuse box, main power for the truck. I took it all in one piece. That will be a good start.

Re: Finish Wiring of a Stand Alone Harness

Wow I just noticed this thread died off without me answering user halfstep. As mentioned I went to the wreckers yard to an 08 truck and got the battery cables and the mega fuse. I used the 08's Group 47 style battery. From the megafuse a heavy wire is the main feed for the trucks main fuse box. I mounted the megafuse with it's plastic cover under the battery tray in order to neaten and hide some wiring (kinda visible in the middle of the pick).
