To my surprise, as I was pulling it apart it appeared to be recently rebuilt. Bored .060 over, very clean inside with no ring ridge. Lifters, pushrods, rockers and valves looked brand new. Unfortunately it did get some water in the cylinders at some point and its a little crispy. I am going to do a quick hone and reassemble. I think it will be just fine. Here are some pictures and I will try to update this thread as I go along.

Well, I had no intentions of selling this truck but a fellow member needed it more than I did. I'm very happy with where it went and I'll let him speak up if he wants to. This forum and these trucks are surrounded by some of the best people I have ever dealt with. On to the next one!

Well...it's no secret that I liked this truck. Not only is it a 70 Fremont K20...it's dk gold/red. I'm eyeball deep in a 70 Fremont K20 build already, so my brother and I picked it up together and it'll give us another one to work on together. But we shipped it to his house, so I'm afraid I've already lost my stake.

Austin, I can't echo your sentiments enough. I love this board and the folks on it as much or more than the trucks. I am so grateful to you for saving this truck and even more so for giving us the opportunity to pick up the baton and move it forward. Thanks bud.

Gotta find a vintage Coors tag though...it's red and gold and from Colorado! Which is how they end up getting named around here. I'm working on Michigan...Utah and Colorado pictured below.

Congrats Brad! Dark Gold poly is one of my favorite colors. That red interior is the icing on the cake as far as I'm concerned. Wouldn't have thought it would be a good combo but I really dig it. What are the plans for it?

Couldn't agree more on the color combo. We're just going to continue along with what Austin started. We'll sort out/replace all the soft stuff in the interior. Clean up the sheet metal and replace the windshield. There will be new tires, but we may argue over that. This truck has the stance and tires I prefer, but my brother prefers the stance and tires of the blue '71 pictured above.

I don't know if it'll ever be a full resto. Just a fix what's wrong right now and enjoy. I can't wait to get that red Z62 seat done.

I'm working on a full nut and bolt truck right now and I like that...but just sorting them out and enjoying them is a ton of fun too.

My 70 has the same color steering wheel and column. Does anyone know what color that is?

This color red is 70 only. 69 red was different, deeper and often referred to as oxblood (also one year only interior). I have yet to see the truck in person, but expect to this weekend. I'm not aware of any name for the 70 color other than red. See a pic of a 69 red interior below for comparison.
