...and along the way, the accelerator pedal stuck at WOT and set the battery on fire. #nottruebutfunny

Re: $100K truck

100K? I'm sure they'll sell at least a few thousand to guys who want people look at them. But few-to-none to guys who actually use a truck to do truck stuff.

One of those trucks went by me on a dark road, and have to say it looked really cool from the back. Like Han Solo was passing me in the Millennium Falcon. So the "hey look at me" factor is high.

1969 C10 (not the current one) that I bought in the early 1980s. Paid $1200; sold for $1500 a few years later. Just a hint at the appreciation that was coming.

Re: $100K truck

$2500 was a LOT of money in 1972 Dollars. I paid $1200 for a used '68 C/10 in 1973 and it took me over two years to pay it off.

Fun Fact: Teslas are built at the same plant in Fremont, Calif. where two of my Chevy trucks were built.

Same here. Both mine are California natives. And both look like real trucks.

Lightbulb Re: $100K truck

Not to split hairs, but a Cheyenne trimmed KE20 with auto trans was more than $2500 in 1972. My 1970 Blazer was over $5k in 1970.

Was just about to post that the truck pictured was not a 2500 dollar truck in 72
