Grill polishing
For you metal guys out there, what would be the steps, grits to sanding and polishing an aluminum grill ?

Go to the Search, and put in Grille Polishing or Trim Polishing, and the threads covering this will come up.
It appears that your Grille is in very good shape, so polishing it back up will be pretty easy. |

Was the 69/70 grill polished or annodized originally? I was thinking annodized so I never tried to polish mine. His looks polished or is that a aftermarket one?

The 69-70 original grilles (which that one definitely is) were coated with a clear anodized coat which will need to be removed if it hasn't been already. The recommended method of removal is easy-off oven cleaner in the yellow can (from what I've read).
Here's a thread that details the process. Seems like it's not for the impatient. Also the images are gone thanks to Photobucket. |
