86 A/C parts.
It's been a while since I have been able to work on my truck.
Looks like i will have some time this summer. I'm looking at the A/C system and doing inventory of what I will need. Before the truck was taken apart the ac worked but leaked. What is the best rout to take? A new compressor or reseal my original? New hoses or have new rubber put on mine? I will have to check and see if my condenser is still good(no leaks). If not is there a brand that is better than the others? Same thing with compressors is there a preferred brand? With the crap quality of parts these days I don't know what to trust. Sorry about all the questions. |

Re: 86 A/C parts.
Are you trying to stay original (R4 compressor)? I just went through 3 new (but overseas) 4Seasons units, each time flushing and replacing accumulator and orifice.
After the last one, that made it a week before exploding, and filling the system with black death, I went with a Sanden 508, Alan Grove bracketry, and made hoses, ran a new condenser/accumulator/orifice tube. It now runs quiet, I can't even tell when it cycles, and blows at 32 degrees through the center vent. Oh, I ran pag100 oil with Ice as well....

I was hoping to.
I would like to stay with r12 also. I see acdelco compressors different places are they relabeled china stuff? https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo...6628&jsn=15202 I also thought about using one of the earlier A6 compressors. |

Hello,
I know this is old but if you have not done it yet look for a real "sanden" and not a chinese knock off. also,, COld Hose in Florida has about every fitting ever made at a reasonable price i just installed a SD 4711 on my square body and dentside |
