6l80 to sbc

I know there are kits to control the trans, and sbc to 6l80 torque converters.

So does the trans just bolt up? I was told sbc ls pattern is different. Or is it just slightly different and shims fix it

IIRC Gen V engines have a different bell housing pattern but 5 of 7 should still match up.
