Valuation Help, Considering Purchase
We have a 72 K5 that was purchased new by a family member, but then went to a close family friend for the last decade. I let that family friend know I wanted to bring it back into our family and wanted first chance to purchase it and he is honoring those wishes as he reaches his later years.
I want to pay him a fair value and wanted opinions on what a fair value would be. He isn't looking to make a killing on it. It does need a restoration as it hasn't been garaged much in its life, but I do personally know the entire history. I set up my first mule deer on the tailgate at age 12, so there is a sentimental value in this one. Original motor Replacement trans 3 years ago Original miles (34K, never turned over). Most are small town miles, mountain trails hence the bumps and bruises Never in an accident Pretty well optioned Thoughts on value appreciated! I'm buying it no matter the price, just want to treat him fairly. 2018 and older values I felt confident in, but post covid I'm just not sure. Apologies if I'm being paranoid with the blurred out plates, I don't want anyone to try to pull this one away. I hope you guys can understand! |

Re: Valuation Help, Considering Purchase
Since it was owned by family and now owned by family friend and you shown interest I would say pretty good spot to negotiate. JD Powers low about 12K from what I see would be 4-5 k if it runs good.
good luck 7D2N

Re: Valuation Help, Considering Purchase
I really hope you get this back.
![]() You are the Rightful / Best owner for this piece of history. If you Know what he paid for it that would be a Useful tool. The transmission cost him some money. $5000.oo would be a good starting point. Daddy always told me to not price another man's stuff. I would ask what he thought the starting price that he is thinking of.

Re: Valuation Help, Considering Purchase
5000 would be pretty low in my opinion for a Highlander with air. Be nice if you could get it for that but I think I’d feel guilty at that price
