.

Took it out for a lil road time...just tooling on down to the historic McKinney square for lunch/early dinner. My target restaurant was Juarez McKinney...very good stuff!

Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter

Preparing to put the motor from my 72 into the anniversary truck . This motor ran very well not an issue but I did find this changing out the oil pan gasket . Oil pressure never dropped off . Lucky I guess ordered a new Melling pump ,pick up screen and pump shaft . Definitely going to tig the new one when I get the depth set

Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter

I had that happen on a '64 Impala. The oil light came on when slowing down an off ramp. Tapped the pan with a hammer, and it clunked back. Put another quart of oil in it to keep the oil pump gozinta covered with oil and nursed it to my parent's house to pull the engine. One of the neighbors was a machinist and he knurled the part of the screen assembly that presses into the pump. It was a new pump and the old screen that was on the engine prior to rebuilding.

Easiest way is to drive it back in then put a tack weld on it so it will never do that again.
