Re: My Winter Build 54 Chevy 1300
Removed the inner panel and sealed the lap joint at the top. Also removed the teck screws and welded the holes. I then sealed the complete joint at the bottom and sides. I sealed the old metal on the inside of the cab and then I sprayed the rubber undercoat on the metal.

spent some time on the passenger door gaps. I removed the drip rails, so I had some large gaps to shrink.

Re: My Winter Build 54 Chevy 1300
I have the cab Mounted on the frame the inner fenders fitted and installed, the fenders put on. Need to manipulate the metal to close some gaps. Installed the Bear claws on the doors and the strike pins. I made new backing plates for the Strike pins as I did not like the way the ones that came with them installed.

Re: My Winter Build 54 Chevy 1300
Very nice project, I'm subscribed. I like watching projects that have the budget for top notch components from the start.
Question, can you post a pic of a "1300" hood emblem? Have heard about Canadian half tons, but, never actually seen one of the emblems.

Re: My Winter Build 54 Chevy 1300
Frenched the Headlights, Have the pots mounted. Just need to feather them into the fenders. Spent the day marking out y=the steering column and pedals. then spent some time mounting and making a filler for a radio.
Going to mount the Air conditioning tommorow (more holes). https://www.dropbox.com/sc/urmzz7fnd...q3o48udJXLoECa |

Re: My Winter Build 54 Chevy 1300
Assembled the seats last night. installed the steering column and cut brake pedal hole in firewall.
Seat frame was shortened a little As I found the height was a little too tall. Eye level at window edge. Seat center was off to the steering column, needed to move it over a little. Closer to door. pedal length is long. I think it sticks out too far. will be shorting it so the pedals line up better. https://www.dropbox.com/sc/ntzzw7krz...0-XaYCBiLhcAEa |

Re: My Winter Build 54 Chevy 1300
Body pieces all painted and getting installed.
Drivetrain complete and running. Interior completed. Just seats to install. Still wiring and testing components. Truck is out for a wheel alignment. Front fenders, hood left to install . |
