Paint Color below the valance panel

I've got a low mileage mostly original C10 that has had a re-spray at some point. I'm working on getting it back on the road and doing paint/body right now. I've been searching quite a bit both on this forum and just regular image searches from my browser trying to see what color folks have under the louvers in the valance panel between the back of the hood and the windshield.

Mine is currently light blue (truck codes are light blue/white). I don't know if it ended up light blue from the re-spray or if that is factory. I've seen two pictures of nicely done trucks where it looks like black through the louvers and then I've seen more with body color. My question is...how did it come from the factory?

I'm leaning towards the light blue because I feel it won't be so obvious, but if black is correct, then I may go with that.

Thoughts? Thanks!

Re: Paint Color below the valance panel

On my 68 camaro that I am building, I consulted with a guru that judges orginal restorations nationwide. Answer was body color to the top of the firewall, then black. It may be hard to see, but the panel is Fathom blue. The factory didn't take any great pains in that area. You may want to double check me.
