Re: Want to see a Corvair thread?

Id like to see a build thread. I picked up a non running 65 convertible several years ago and shoved it in the barn. I doubt Ill ever do anything with it. Ive considered putting it up for sale but Corvair prices are still pretty low so its almost not worth bothering with. When my little shop opens up again, probably next summer, I might drag it home if I still have it. Sure takes up less room than one of our trucks. It will make my shop seem large =)

OK you talked me into it. Now if I can organize my pictures. It has been fun and frustrating all at the same time. I tell people Corvairs are not Chevys! Everything has been a learning experience. (which is a good thing?)

Corvair prices have always been "pretty low".. In 1978, the last year I raced, I bought a running and driving '65 Corvair for $35.00.. I peeled off the front fenders, doors, quarter panels, roof skin, and deck lid (engine cover??), and used the pieces as a body for my dirt track racer.. I sold the engine and transaxle for $50.00.. Sold the remaining metal as scrap for about $40 - $50.. took the interior to the land fill.

Some during shots....And yes it'll be worth way less than what I have in it. Such is life. LOL
Not sure why the wonky photos. The Camaro valance was out of my pay grade. Good idea, have since seen it done on another LM Corvair.
