This vin plate

If I'm reading this right this 1967 rig is the 96th to roll off the line,I would really like to have a idea of the production date.

Re: This vin plate

The build date project has a few California-built 1967 GMCs listed.

Thank you , this gives me some idea of its birth date, personally I came off the assembly line in Dec of 66 so we were born about the same time,I was #4 off my assembly line so I got the GMC beat there.

No.

Chevrolet nameplated vehicles were also being built on the same line with their own specific VIN sequence.

At about 9 or 10 Chevys for every GMC that pushes this truck way back.

So - while it was the 96th serial number assigned to a GMC it would not have been the 96th vehicle down the line for the model year.
